This hospital aims to be a place that can firmly establish a meaningful relationship between people and animals. We designed a bright, friendly space by using natural materials such as wood and washi paper.

　　As a result, the wooden box evokes a “house,” with its roof thrusting deep into the air, far from a more conventional image of a hospital.

　　隈研吾建筑都市设计事务所日前在日本高崎市完成了“ohkubo动物医院”，该设计专注于在人和动物之间创建一种有意义的关系。建筑形体四四方方，外立面为木材与黑色板材竖向铺成的饰面。黑色木色彼此相间而形成的连续、带有韵律感的图案将整座建筑包裹其中。同时，超然的屋顶仿佛位于墙体之上，并在边缘处向下折叠形成入口处的防护雨篷。在室内设计方面，内部空间并没有延续传统医院的设计模式，而是利用自然的材料和饰面（例如木材与和纸）。裸露的木条可以让人们注意到空间的高度和天花板处的折角，同时进一步营造一种“家”的感觉而非诊所的氛围。
